You Have To DO Something

You Have To DO Something

A lot of the time you hear people equate New Thought with "Magical Thinking".

Well it is magical thinking I suppose.
But you can think, feel, all you want, but unless you DO, nothing will happen.
The money, health, wealth, abundance, relationships will not just fall out of the sky.
You have to get out there and do.

Tony Robbins said, "Never leave the scene of an Intention without taking action".
Neville Goddard said many times to do the mental side, but to "go about your Father's business."

Now I have heard some, Reverend Ike for one, say that no matter what happens, if the money has to fall out of the sky, you will get it.
But even he admitted that it was a rare occurrence.

Yes I have seen money appear literally out of thin air.
But it does not happen often and since it is not a reproducable event, it is not a "Law".
It just does happen sometimes.
I have seen people healed out of the blue.
But not enough to call it a law.

Think, feel, affirm, chant, whatever you need to do.
But do as well.

I dont think that you will find a rich person anywhere that will tell you that all they did was affirm and feel and they became billionaires.
They did something.
The money had to come through acknowledged channels.

Listen to the old teachers like Hill, Nightingale, they all teach this.

Now I remember that Louise Berlay said that she locked herself in a bedroom for days and focused on one thing.
Carole Dore has the "I am at one with a tremendous amount of money" chant along with money smelling.
People use attraction sigils.

But you are not gonna hear a single billionaire say that he wished for money until it appeared.
He (or she) did something.

Here is a video by Earl Nightingale that gives some mental activities to try every day, and here is a link to a PDF that contains the lecture and more.
The PDF is here: http://communitysuccess.org/sites/default/files/u9/LeadTheField-Earl%20Nightingale.pdf

Manifesting Updates - October 2014

For the past two months I have been listening to Neville Goddard lectures at the rate of about two a day.
Is it doing any good?
I would say yes.
I have seen some things happen that there are really no good logical reasons for.
I mean fairly big manifestations that have happened in a few hours.

So what am I doing?
You know I have always said if I found something that works I would share it.

First, every day about 2:00 or 3:00 I lay down.
I repeat "I am" over and over and over until it feels like it's finished.
I know that's hard to explain...but it feels like it's time to stop.

Second,  I know there are a lot of variations of this, but I repeat "Wonderful things are happening for *us* right now."
"Something wonderful is happening" wasn't working.
And I had real results when I switched from "for me" to "for us".
Results as in not only did I start having great things happen, but so did other people that are connected to me.
And sometimes their good fortune spilled over onto me.

Also, I began to "play" with the idea that everything I said happened.
Just imagine that you are God.
And your every thought, wish, will comes true.
Trust me, you will pay a lot closer attention to your thoughts.

Synchronization...things keep popping up.
One major thing is a Bible verse.
I thought of it one day.
Then the next day, Neville quoted it in a lecture I was listening to.
Then I ran across it again online.
Then I was reading a chapter in the Bible, looking at a totally unrelated subject ..and sure enough that was the same chapter that the verse appears in.

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11

When the verse shows up that many times, it's trying to tell you something.

The Magic of Believing - Claude M Bristol

Last time I mentioned Claude M Bristol and "TNT It Rocks The Earth".
While that book may have gotten everyone's attention, it was his second book that really cemented his place as a New Thought author.
"The Magic of Believing" took the principals of the first book and expanded on them.
And it also told in depth how he came to believe these things himself.

He is part one of the book at YouTube.
I have to warn you though, this is a VERY abridged version.
You cannot take the original book and read along.
To get everything you need to read the book, but this will give you some idea of how Bristol thought.

Facts Overflow The World - Neville Goddard

Facts Overflow The World was a lecture given by Neville Goddard on November 19th, 1971.
Pretty interesting lecture that for one thing, goes into what the story of Noah's ark really represented.

If you have never heard Neville I wouldn't recommend starting out with this one though.
A little background on what he taught is necessary I think to really get this one.

Genevieve Behrend - Thomas Troward's Only Student

You know I like to read a lot and try different manifesting techniques.
I think my mind gets used to things and kind of "runs dry" after using one thing too long.
In looking around, I ran across Genevieve Behrend.
Born in Paris, France in 1881, Genevieve Behrend was the only student of legendary New Thought author Thomas Troward.

Genevieve, like a lot of other New Thought practioners back then, knew some of the greats.
She studied met Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science but left her studies there after awhile.
She then met the eldest son of Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, Abdul Baha.
Abdul gave her direction saying that she would "travel the world over seeking the truth, and when she had found it, would speak it out".

After that she ran across the teachings of Thomas Troward and decided that was the way she wanted to go.
But he was in England and she was in New York.
So she had to get the money to go there.
And she did, manifesting $20,000.00 basically out of thin air.

Genevieve details in her book Your Invisible Power how she did it.

She memorized passages from Troward's The Dore Lectures on Mental Science.....
"My mind is a centre of Divine operation.
The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression, and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in the past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence or growth.
Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner with me; consequently, in my own special world, of which I am the center, it will move forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of any that have gone before."

And in a vein similar to what Neville Goddard would later teach, she visualized count out the money, buying the tickets and getting on the boat, twice a day every day.
In six weeks she had the money.

You can find her books, "Your Invisible Power" and "Attaining Your Heart's Desire" many places online for free.

There are even several audio versions of "Your Invisible Power" online....like this....

TNT It Rocks The Earth and The Magic of Believing

In my constant search for knowledge (that sounds good right?) I am always looking for new things to read.
Last month I happened across Claude Bristol.
Claude was born in 1891 and he was a soldier in World War 1.
Before that he was a police reporter and a church editor of a large city newspaper.
Claude kind of stumbled onto his path because as a church editor, he got to talk to a wide variety of people with a wide variety of beliefs.
Doing like a lot of us do, and spurred on by his police reporter background, he started digging into those beliefs, looking for a common thread which he found.
Belief.
When he was a soldier he decided that when he got back to civilian life "he would have a lot of money" and set out to discover how he could do that.
He relied a lot on philosopher William James' statement that "Belief creates its verification in fact", which will sound very familiar to you Neville Goddard fans out there.
And yes...things did begin to work out for him.

So far I have read two of his books, "TNT It Rocks The Earth" and "The Magic of Believing" and I have to tell you, they are small books but full of a LOT of great ideas.
You can find them both online as PDFs for free and also audio versions on YouTube.
(I wouldnt even mention them if you couldnt get hold of them for free)

Now here is a very unique source of info on the The Magic of Believing.....

Neville Goddard - Prayer, The Art Of Believing

I just got finished reading Neville Goddard's Prayer, The Art Of Believing.
As you know if you have read any of Neville's books...he does not mince words.
His "speech" may seem flowery or even archaic to us now... but I like it.

Neville Goddard, Prayer The Art Of Believing, Neville, prayer, manifesting reality

One thing he said about prayer keeps sticking in my mind and I thought I would post it here....

"Another very effective way to pray for oneself is to use the formula of Job who found that his own captivity was removed as he prayed for his friends.
Fix your attention on a friend and have the imaginary voice of your friend tell you that he is, or has that which is comparable to that which you desire to be or have.
As you mentally hear and see him, feel the thrill of his good fortune and sincerely wish him well.
This awakens in him the corresponding vibration of the state affirmed, which vibration must then objectify itself as a physical fact.
You will discover the truth of the statement, “Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.” “The quality of mercy is twice blessed— it blesses him who taketh and him who giveth.”
The good you subjectively accept as true of others will not only be expressed by them, but a full share will be realized by you."

The Ara Kara Mantra Revisited

The most popular subject on this blog by far is "Ara Kara".
Now this leads me to wonder.....
Is it because so many people want to learn about it?
Or is it because so many people have had success with it?

The Ara Kara Mantra

Now you know in my limited time working with the chant, I really didn't have much success.
But you also may recall that I saw on one of Dattatreya Siva Baba's YouTube videos that I was doing it wrong.
Well I was doing it Wayne Dyer's way, and since Dattatreya taught Wayne Dyer, I figured I was doing it right.
Of course he taught Wayne the "Ahh meditation" not Ara Kara I suppose.

Anyway, here you can see Dattatreya himself demonstrating the mantra.....

Now, has anyone out there had any success with the Ara Kara mantra?

EFT and the Law of Attraction Report 3

Okay, it's been 14 days now of me doing the EFT and the Law of Attraction experiment.

Has anything amazing happened?
Nope.
True I had that one instance, but really that could be chalked up to coincidence.
No 18,000 dollars showing up out of nowhere.
So now do I keep tapping?
Well it has only been two weeks.
I think I'll go another week, give it a month and see what happens.

Now really, doing the tapping does seem to relax me more, so I can recommend EFT for relaxation.
But as far as the Law of Attraction, I haven't seen anything yet to substantiate that.
Of course everyone is different and what works for you may not work for me.
So I can only tell you what my personal experience is.
I do really hope this works.
I'd love to find a system I can recommend to everyone.
I would dearly LOVE to post here one day and say "This is amazing! You have to do it!"
But until that day, I'll keep working these things out.

Sigil Magic and the Law of Attraction

Sigil Magic and the Law of Attraction

Sigil magic is another way of transforming your reality.
There are a ton of links online ( which I'll plug in at the bottom) but the technique is very simple.
First, write down your desire.
Its suggested that you use " It is my will" or a variation thereof, but a simple " I am"(ala Neville Goddard) should work too.
" It is my will that I make one million dollars this year" or " I am a millionaire".
Okay, taking the first sentence, eliminate all the vowels, a,e,i,o,u (as far as I know y and w are fine)
That gives you " TSMYWLLTHTMKNMLLNDLLRSTHSYR "
Kinda long huh?
Now Remove all the repeating letters.....
TSMWLHKNDR
Now...take those letters and create a symbol.
Charge the symbol and BANG!
Like I said...VERY simplified explanation.
Check out these links for more info......

BTW, don't be put off by the word magic. A lot of people that use sigils don't think it has a thing to do with magic, but rather programming your subconscious.

A Simple Technique for Manifesting Success into Your Life

A Simple Technique for Manifesting Success into Your Life
By Mark Williams

Manifesting is great way to bring about the desires of your life. I want to teach you a simple technique to use manifesting to create the life you desire.
The first thing you need to realize is…
You and you alone are in charge of your life. The successes and failures in your life are directly correlated to what you think about.
A very empowering realization in life is to finally realize that you are in charge of it. The success or lack of it, in your life is not the fault of someone else or some event. Happiness and success is created by the thoughts and emotions you focus on.
Manifesting is a great tool for turning thoughts and emotions into reality. The key to successful manifesting is not just the thought of what it is you desire but putting the feelings and emotions with the thought. Coupling emotions with thoughts is a very powerful manifesting technique.
Thoughts are very powerful things but by themselves they are virtually harmless. Much like a bullet, thoughts are potentially powerful but without a firing pin it is harmless. Emotions are the firing pins of successful manifesting.

Orison Swett Marden (1850 - 1924)

Orison Swett Marden
Orison Swett Marden (1850 - 1924) was an American writer associated with the New Thought Movement. He also held a degree in medicine, and was a successful hotel owner.

Marden was born in Thornton Gore, New Hampshire to Lewis and Martha Marden. When he was three years old, his mother died at the age of 22, leaving Orison and his two sisters in the care of their father, a farmer, hunter, and trapper. When Orison was seven years old, his father died from injuries incurred while in the wood, and the children were shuttled from one guardian to another, with Orison working as a "hired boy" to earn his keep. Inspired by an early self-help book by the Scottish author Samuel Smiles, which he found in an attic, Marden set out to improve himself and his life circumstances. He persevered in advancing himself and graduated from Boston University in 1871. He later graduated from Harvard with a M.D. in 1881 and an LL.B. degree in 1882. He also studied at the Boston School of Oratory and Andover Theological Seminary.

Marden supported himself during his college years by working in a hotel and afterward by becoming the owner of several hotels and a resort. Financial reverses ended that career, and in 1893, he was again working as a hotel manager, in Chicago, during the time that the World's Columbian Exposition was attracting visitors to that city from all over the world. It was during this period that he began to write down his philosophical ideas, with the goal of inspiring others as he had been inspired by Samuel Smiles.

In addition to Smiles, Marden cited as influences on his thinking the works of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. and Ralph Waldo Emerson, both of whom were influential forerunners of what, by the 1890s, was called the New Thought Movement.

Marden's first book, Pushing to the Front, was published in 1894. He followed this with several more volumes on the subjects of succes, the cultivation of will-power, and positive thinking. He founded Success Magazine in 1897 and was also a regular contributor to Elizabeth Towne's New Thought magazine Nautilus during the first two decades of the 20th century.

Like many proponents of the New Thought philosophy, Marden believed that our thoughts influence our lives and our life circumstances. He said, "We make the world we live in and shape our own environment." Yet although he is best known for his books on financial success, he always emphasized that this would come as a result of cultivating one's personal development: "The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment; it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone."

Marden died in 1924 at the age of 74.

Henry Drummond - Natural Law in the Spiritual World

Henry Drummond, born August 17, 1851, died March 11, 1897 was a Scottish evangelical writer and lecturer.

He was educated at Edinburgh University, where he displayed a strong inclination for physical and mathematical science. The religious element was an even more powerful factor in his nature, and disposed him to enter the Free Church of Scotland. While preparing for the ministry, he became for a time deeply interested in the evangelizing mission of Moody and Sankey, in which he actively co-operated for two years.

In 1877 he became lecturer on natural science in the Free Church College, which enabled him to combine all the pursuits for which he felt a vocation. His studies resulted in his writing Natural Law in the Spiritual World, the argument of which was that the scientific principle of continuity extended from the physical world to the spiritual. Before the book issued from the press (1883), a sudden invitation from the African Lakes Company drew Drummond away to Central Africa.

Upon his return in the following year he found himself famous. Large bodies of serious readers, alike among the religious and the scientific classes, discovered in Natural Law the common standing-ground which they needed; and the universality of the demand proved, if nothing more, the seasonableness of its publication. Drummond continued to be actively interested in missionary and other movements among the Free Church students.

In 1888 he published Tropical Africa, a valuable digest of information. In 1890 he traveled in Australia, and in 1893 delivered the Lowell Lectures at Boston. It had been his intention to reserve them for mature revision, but an attempted piracy compelled him to hasten their publication, and they appeared in 1894 under the title of The Ascent of Man. Their object was to vindicate for altruism, or the disinterested care and compassion of animals for each other, an important part in effecting the survival of the fittest, a thesis previously maintained by Professor John Fiske.

Drummond's health failed shortly afterwards, and he died on the 11th of March 1897. His character was full of charm. His writings were too nicely adapted to the needs of his own day to justify the expectation that they would long survive it, but few men exercised more religious influence in their own generation, especially on young men.

Coincidentally, his name was used in the popular American play about the Scopes/Monkey trial, Inherit the Wind by Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence.

THE NEW CHRISTOLOGY, Neville Goddard

THE NEW CHRISTOLOGY

In the 10th chapter of John we are told that the good shepherd goes first and his sheep follow. Signs follow, they do not precede. Take your desire into the fold by putting yourself into the desired state. Remain there until you feel its reality. Knowing that imagining creates reality, thank your Father and drop it. Now, do nothing on the outside to make it so, only know your desire is yours the moment you do it! Do not expect immediate birth! There are always intervals of time between pregnancy and its fulfillment. One seed may take 21 days, another five months, nine months, a year, or even more. Do not be concerned with the interval of time between the fertilization of the seed and its hatching; only know the seed of desire has been planted in the mind. And if at times you find your sheep have gone astray, bring them back into your fold when you know who the good shepherd is. But if you don’t, you will find many shepherds who will fleece you!

Everyone should be completely consumed with the desire to know how a thing is made. I’ll tell you how I make it. Knowing what I want, reason may tell me I can’t get it and my senses may deny that I have it; but believing that my own wonderful human imagination is Christ and trusting myself, I assume I have it and drop it right there. I do not concern myself with what means will be employed for me to get it, I simply believe I already have it!

The Source, Neville Goddard

The Source

I urge you not to despair. If you have tried and tried to imagine, yet failed, don't give up, try to be more intense. Try to be more believing concerning the reality of your imaginal act. Man, believing in the mechanism of the universe, finds it difficult to see it as imaginal, but it is. Tell the story of the Kennedys to the average man and he will say: so what? He cannot see that story as confirmation of the fact that imagining creates reality. You could tell him a hundred such stories, but - steeped in believing that this world is mechanical and must be moved on the outside - man finds it difficult to understand that the world will reshuffle itself to reflect any change that takes place in the individual. But the change takes place in the imagination, not in the world!

When your belief becomes a fact and appears solidly real on the outside, it is because it is supported by you on the inside. The day you cease to believe in it, it will fade, for everything must be built on the foundation of belief. I believe I am a success. I will remain a success only to the extent that I continue to believe I am. The day I stop believing, failure enters and success fades.

You must believe you are in a certain state. You cannot forget it if you want to externalize that state. You may drop it after reaching a certain point, but if you want to keep it alive, you must do it within yourself; for nothing comes into being unsupported by an imaginal act, and nothing remains unless supported by that act. The day imaginal support is withdrawn the thing begins to vanish, and ceases to be in your world. This is true for a marriage, a friendship, or a business.

If you know what you want, give it to yourself, for there is only one source of causation. That source is God. He is the dreamer in you who will awaken from this wonderful dream of life; and when he does, you will realize you have been dreaming all along. Many great poets have tried to tell this, but man cannot comprehend that the poet - in touch with a deeper layer of his own being - was awakened and recorded his experiences, until it happens in the individual.

The dreamer in you is God. It is he who is the source, the cause of your life. Dream fervently! Dream with intensity! Use the recorded techniques such as, "Come close, my son that I may feel you." You can, by a spiritual sensation, persuade yourself that you are experiencing something physically.

The Spirit of Truth, Neville Goddard

The Spirit of Truth

If you confine yourself to the human belief of truth, you will be stuck in that groove; for every moment of time you are confronted with the facts of life. Knowing your social, intellectual, and financial background, you could not get out of the environment in which you were placed. My family did not accept these so-called facts of life. They climbed out of poverty by using their imagination. Knowing what they wanted, they imagined their desire was an external fact. They remained faithful to this imagined state, and in time they became what they imagined themselves to be. That is the law.

I urge you to set your hope fully on the grace that is coming to you at the unfolding of Jesus Christ in you. Use the law towards beautifying your world and getting all of the lovely things you feel you need. Don't ask anyone's permission; simply appropriate it in your own wonderful human imagination. Imagine and live by imagining, - morning, noon, and night. It will not fail you, but remember: you are the operant power.

Knowing what to do is one thing. Doing it is another; and we are called upon to be doers of the word and not just hearers only, deceiving ourselves. You can read one of my books over and over again. You can tell others what the book says, but if you never apply its message, the mere reading of its words will not benefit you. But if you will test your imagination, it will prove itself in performance.

The Spirit Within, Neville Goddard

The Spirit Within

Now, in order to prove that the law works, you must try it. Have a goal. Your goal may be peace of mind, health or marriage. You name it. Knowing your own wonderful human imagination is the one and only cause of your life, conceive a scene which, if true, would imply the fulfillment of your goal. Do not allow yourself to observe the action, but put yourself in the center of the scene and allow your friends to congratulate you on your good fortune. Accept their congratulations without embarrassment. Enter into the spirit of the scene and remain there until it feels real, then drop it in confidence that the imaginal act was performed by God. How do I know this? Because God's name forever and ever is I am. If at the time of your imagining I had asked you what you were doing, you would have said: "I am imagining." At that moment you called forth your desire with His name.

Every time you imagine, God is acting and all things are possible to him.
All you need to do now is wait patiently, confident that your desire will externalize itself, and when it does you have found the cause of creation. Then tell your sleeping brothers, who wait patiently for their world to change while they activate its continuance. Nothing happens on the outside! Everything has to be initiated on the inside first. Read the morning paper, turn on the television or radio, and react to what you hear and see, and that reaction is an imaginal act which will cause unlovely experiences to people your world. As you reap your harvest, you may not relate your present experience to what you did, but you had to have done it or you couldn't be aware of it now, for everything is yourself pushed out, for you and God are one.

THE SPIRITUAL CAUSE, part 2, Neville Goddard

If you want to be a man of wealth, assume that you are. You see: the man of wealth and the poor man are the same being. The individual who occupies the poor state is God's emanation who has fallen into the state of poverty. He does not differ, however, from the individual who occupies the state of wealth. The man in the state of wealth may have lots of money, but he is the same being, in a spiritual sense, as the man who is poor. The only difference is that the poor man does not know he can leave the state of poverty.

This world is made up of infinite states which you may clothe yourself with. If you do not like the state you are in, you can get out of it by taking a heavenly moment and assuming you have moved. You can put yourself into any state, be it wealth or poverty. If you don't enjoy poverty, don't get into the state. I have no desire for fabulous wealth. I do not want the responsibility connected with it. I can't see how anyone who is fabulously wealthy has any time for spiritual awareness. Morning, noon, and night he must watch his portfolio. The first thing he does in the morning is read the financial section of the newspaper. He reads it as some ladies read the social section - as though it really matters.

You can't conceive of anything that someone is not already doing. Everything is possible because imagining creates reality. And don't think you can imagine quietly, because your world is a record of your imaginal acts. Nothing appears by accident. You may not remember the moment you imagined it, so you cannot relate your spiritual cause to its natural effect; but every natural effect has a spiritual cause. All causes are spiritual, all imaginal, for "Man is all imagination and God is man and exists in us and we in him. The eternal Body of man is the imagination and that is God Himself." (William Blake)

THE SPIRITUAL CAUSE, part 1, Neville Goddard

THE SPIRITUAL CAUSE

In the parable of Isaac and his two sons, Esau and Jacob, Isaac is blind. Desiring to be felt as his brother Esau was, Jacob clothed himself with the skins of a goat. Clothed so that his blind father could feel him through the sense of touch, Jacob deceived his father into giving him his blessing. Let us extract the psychological meaning from this story. Reason says you are not the man you want to be. Closing your eyes to the obvious facts of life, you deny everything reason dictates by mentally clothing yourself in your desired state. Let people see you there. Imagine until you are actually standing where you want to stand. Actually doing the things you would do if your desire was now an obvious fact. Do this, and you are clothing yourself in the outer garment of naturalness.

When you open your eyes to the facts of life, they will deny everything you have done - but you know what you did. You caught a precious moment which doubt cannot find, or his help-mates find. You have become one of the industrious, for you found the moment and clothed yourself with the feeling of fulfilled desire and - like Isaac - you have given your blessing to the moment and cannot take it back. Isaac would not retract his blessing; so when Esau (the reasonable, rational mind) returned, its right to live had been taken away by Jacob (the smooth-skinned desire). Jacob was rightly named, for the word means "the supplanter." Isaac explained to Esau that, even though Jacob deceived him, the moment could not be called back. It was on its way toward fulfillment. And when it appears, its suddenness is only the emergence of a hidden continuity.

I urge you to test your creative power on this level. Take every moment you can and clothe yourself in the feeling that your wish is fulfilled. Feel its reality and do not forget that moment, for it is productive. In its own good time, that moment will appear in this world, properly clothed as an objective fact. No matter who it takes to aid the birth of your imaginal act, he will appear. If it takes an army to bring it to pass, an army of men will do it. You do not have to determine the way, all you need do is imagine. Just as you would plant a seed in the ground, confident that it will grow, so you can drop your fulfilled desire into your mind, confident that it will appear as an objective fact.
