Make It or Break It...Aftermath

Here I am about 400 miles North of where I was.
We have a chance to breathe, stop and get back on our feet.
Yes it wasn't what I was asking for, but in many ways, this is better.

So with all the imagining I was doing...why wasn't the exact thing I was focused on brought into being?

Well maybe you aren't supposed to focus on something, maybe you are supposed to trust in the Higher Power to give you what you need.

Maybe "Thy will be done" is what we should focus on.

After this, I have pretty much shifted away from Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy, and moved on to other things.

Because the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

The results were not what I wanted, so it's time to move on to something else.

And I already have something I am using now, and I seem to be getting better results.
More on that when I get more definite results.

Jesus Quotes - Manifesting Abundance and the Bible

As you know with everything I have been going through, I have been reading a lot of Joseph Murphy and Neville Goddard.
And if you read them, you will see that a lot of what they teach goes back to a book that was published long before The Secret.
The Bible.
Here are some of the most important biblical quotes that Joseph Murphy uses in "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind".
Look them up yourself, read them, read them in context and see what you think.

Jesus Quotes - Manifesting Abundance and the Bible

Mark 11:23
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things

Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Matthew 9:28-30
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.

Mark 9:23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Job 22:28
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Mark 10:52
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Matthew 18:19
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

Matthew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 7:1-2
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Psalm 34:4
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

John 11:41
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

I know most think (and teach) that you just mentally run through affirmations and prayers, but have you noticed how many times in the Bible, speaking something aloud is what seems to give the "word" it's power?
I am beginning to wonder if maybe some things should be said aloud.
See how many times in the Bible you see "Jesus said", and then look and see how many times you see "Jesus thought".
Of course they could not know his thoughts till he said them, being unable to read his mind, but didn't Jesus usually say something out loud before, during or after he did something?
Just something to think about.

Joseph Murphy - Your Infinite Power to Be Rich

Divine Science minister and author Joseph Murphy was born on May 20, 1898 in Ireland and passed away on December 16, 1981.
As you may recall (if you keep up with this blog) Dr. Murphy and Neville Goddard both studied under the Esoteric Christianity teacher, Abdullah.
I really wish I could find out something about Abdullah, but the only references on the net I can find are related to Murphy and Goddard.
If anyone out there has any background, please let us know.

Anyway, I have started reading Dr. Murphy's 1966 book, Your Infinite Power to Be Rich.
As I have said before, Neville's teachings and Murphy's are quite alike (due to Abdullah I suppose) but they do differ on a few points.
And since I am very much into everyone finding their own path, I would suggest reading both and maybe finding your own common ground.

Back to Your Infinite Power to Be Rich, whereas Murphy's book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind is broader, Your Infinite Power to Be Rich focuses on just that, wealth creation.
The book is about how to use affirmations to materialize wealth, mental focus, and it includes many, many affirmations.
Why so many?
Well as I have pointed out here before, everyone is different.
What works like a charm for one, may not work at all for another.
That's why the term "Fool Proof" bothers me so much.
There is no one technique that works for everyone.

But, since I like to share, I will tell you one that I am having great success with right now.
"God fulfills my every need now."
I have seen a couple of things happen since I started this one that could very well go under the "miracle" category.
But like I said, everyone is different.
If you dont believe in God, I dont think that affirmation is going to help you very much, you know?

I wish I could tell you where to find this book online for free, but so far, I have not seen it.
If anyone out there has a link, feel free to share it.
I do know you can buy it at Amazon, and our local Barnes and Noble carries it, so it's not hard to find.

Here is an excerpt from the first chapter....

"There is no virtue whatsoever in poverty, which in actual fact is a mental disease, and it should be abolished from the face of the earth. You are here to find your true place in life, and to give of your talents to the world. You are here to expand and unfold in a wonderful way, according to a God-given potential, and to bring forth spiritual, mental, and material riches, which will bless humanity in countless ways. Learn how to surround yourself always with beauty, and luxury, and realize your inalienable right to live, liberty, freedom and peace of mind."

The only thing I dont like with Dr. Murphy (as opposed to Goddard) is that Murphy's affirmations are at times way too long for me.
I prefer Goddard's "no more than three words" affirmations because to me they are easier.
But you might be a different case altogether.
So again, I would recommend giving the book a try and see what you think.

That Which I Have Greatly Loved Has Come Upon Me

I have been a little quiet as of late.
But I had a reason.

As some of you know, I had c*ncer (I wont even grace the word by spelling it out anymore) back in 2007.
I had surgery, 12 weeks of chemo and was pronounced clean.
But I have to go back to the Dr every few months for blood tests to make sure there is no reoccurrence.
Well the last test showed a slight rise in my tumor count.
They scheduled me for a CT scan last Friday and I have been waiting for the test results since then.

I know what fear is.
I have looked it straight in the face.
I fight fear constantly.
Everyone that has been through c*ncer does I guess.
But you add my OCD, Anxiety Disorder and panic attacks to it, and you have a potent cocktail for trouble.

Well I fought for 5 days and finally last night I almost gave up knowing I would hear the results today.
I e-mailed Rev. Bates who has an excellent website with a lot of Joseph Murphy on it.
The Rev e-mailed me back and said
" If you are knowledgeable of the Bible you will recall that Job said, "that which I have greatly feared has come upon me." Just imagine what a difference his life would have been had he said, "that which I have greatly loved has come upon me." I know and I know that I know, that God indwells you ... for God is Life, and you are part of this Life."

"That which I have greatly loved has come upon me".
How powerful is that?
Not fear, not doubt, but love.
I am saying that what I love is here now upon me.

I repeated that phrase over and over and latched onto the feeling that I had before when the Dr said I was clean.
I thanked God over and over for me getting a clean scan again.

This morning the phone rang and my Dr said " The CT scan was clear. No c*ncer at all."

I thought I had thanked God a lot last night, but it's nothing compared to the joy and freedom I have felt today.
Remember the old "No Fear" T-Shirts?
I think that's a good motto.

"NO FEAR"

The Healing Presence of God is Within You -Dr. Joseph Murphy

Again, this is just one of those things I felt moved to post.
Maybe someone out there needs to hear it.

The Healing Presence of God is Within You -Dr. Joseph Murphy

The healing presence of God is within you.
This miraculous healing power in your subconscious mind, if scientifically directed, can heal your mind, body, and affairs of all disease and impediments.
The first step in healing is not to be afraid of the manifest condition — from this very moment.
The second step is to realize that the condition is only the product of past thinking, which will have no more power to continue its existence.
The third step is mentally to exalt the miraculous healing power of God within you.
This procedure instantly will stop the production of all mental poisons in you or in the person for whom you are praying.
Live in the embodiment of your desire, and your thought and feeling will soon be made manifest.
Do not allow yourself to be swayed by human opinion and worldly fears, but live emotionally in the belief that it is God in action in your mind and body.

Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction, Part 2

Okay, here's this week's update on my Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction experiment.
Really I suppose this should be Joseph Murphy AND Neville Goddard since the two seem to overlap so much.
Anyway, I got a check in the mail from out of the blue for 100 dollars.
Yes out of the blue.
I had no idea it was coming.
Right now I am working on a BIG project that I hopefully will hear something about on Monday.
Three days.
Where have I heard that before?
BTW, if anyone wants to lend their positive energy to mine, feel free.

And speaking of that, when I finally get everything to gel here and get a good working system, I am thinking about maybe actually taking requests here and doing a "Bearing Your Brother's Burden" thing.
What's the point in creating reality if you can't help others?
And as you know, when I do get that system down, I will post in painful detail (LOL) just what I am doing to see if others can replicate the results.

So, in keeping with Dr Murphy and Neville's spirit, I will have good news Monday to report.
Actually I guess it should be I have good news now, right?

Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction, Part 1

Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction, Part 1

I told you that I was going to start Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction and I have.
But the techniques he lays down for manifesting and the ones Neville Goddard uses are very similar.
Probably because they both studied under Abdullah.
I wonder why he never wrote anything?
Did he leave it to his students?

Anyway, one line kept popping up in my head that I had read in "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind".
And that is in chapter 6, " Practical Techniques in Mental Healings".
At the end of the chapter he talks about "The Decree Method".
And there he quotes the Bible, Job 22:28:
"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."

I kept thinking about that and sure enough, in "Your Faith Is Your Fortune" by Neville Goddard, Chapter 2 is called " You Shall Decree"
Here Neville quotes Isaiah 55:11 in the opening....
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

So what about instead of mentally decreeing something, you actually say it out loud?
Take a few minutes a day and consciously say what you decree out loud?

Of course I am no expert.
And I won't start telling people how to do something until something works and I can replicate it.
And someone else I tell can replicate it.
So the Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction experiment continues until I see some results.
Or three weeks pass, whichever comes first.

EFT and the Law of Attraction, Final Report

Okay, I started the EFT and the Law of Attraction experiment on July 22, 2009.
It's August 12th right now so I have been tapping for 22 days.
Results?
None.
Nope, not a thing happened.
I tried it for 3 weeks and I can see no change in "my reality" at all.
Should you try it?
Sure, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it wont work for you.
All I can do is tell you my experience with it.
(And to all you people out there saying "Sabre? What did you expect? You were just tapping on your head!" I say "Pfffft!" LOL)

So whats up next?
Well I plan to try the Joseph Murphy techniques.
I guess the next entry will be Joseph Murphy and the Law of Attraction.
I'll use the methods he describes and see what changes in my reality happen.

BTW, the EFT did seem to relax me.
So I have to go on the record saying it is good for that.
And if anyone has tried it and gotten different results, please let us know.
But please say exactly what you did so I can compare what you did to what I did and see if I can come up with a reason one technique works and another doesnt.

More From "The Magic of Faith"

Here's another bit from "The Magic of Faith" by Dr. Joseph Murphy, 1954.

"I told a man in one of the islands one time "to sleep" on the idea of success. He was selling magazine subscriptions. He became a great success by following this procedure: I suggested that he think of success prior to sleep; i.e., what success meant to him; what he would do if he were successful. I told him to use his imagination; then as he was about to go to sleep, fall in love with the idea of success this way: Repeat the one word, "Success," over and over again. He should get into the mood of success; then fall off to sleep in the arms of his Everlasting Lover. Your Lover—your Divine Presence—will bring to pass whatever you accept as true. The conditions, experiences, and events of your life are called children of your mind."

Here again we have the "sleep manifesting" that Neville Goddard speaks about.
Quite the mind before sleep.
Fill your mind with the idea of what you want.
Really feel it.
Then drift off to sleep with the idea in your mind.

Sounds simple right?

WRONG!

LOL...no really, it can be very hard for some people.
You have to get the idea in your mind and get rid of other thoughts.

Example:

"I have to pay the house payment on Friday, it's Monday and I have no money."
Now you are supposed to quiet any anxious, fearful thoughts and focus on the payment already being made.
While you are trying to focus on the positive outcome, being homeless, in the streets etc., keeps coming into your mind.

Gently push the thought away and go back to positive.
Don't rail against it.
Just push it away and go back to your end result.
KEEP DOING IT!

Don't give in or give up.
In this case you are a warrior and you cannot take no as an answer, or surrender.
And guess who and what you are fighting?
Yourself.
Yes, to do this you must gain mastery over YOU, no one else.

If anyone out there remembers Pogo, think about what he once said....
"We have met the enemy and he is us."

Focus on that one word, be it success, or health or love or peace.

Dr. Joseph Murphy's The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind

Well I'm back.
I was offline for about a month and now I'm busy trying to get caught up on everything.

One of the things I did while I was offline was read Dr. Joseph Murphy's "The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind".
You may know already if you are a regular reader of this blog that Dr. Murphy studied under Abdullah, the same man that taught Neville Goddard.

Neville's approach and Murphy's approach are a little different though.
To put it simply, Neville to me is more metaphysical and Murphy is more scientific.

One major point of difference to me in reading the book is that Murphy does not advocate the "I AM" principle.
At one point, Murphy even says not everyone should say "I am wealthy" if you are not, because your subconscious knows you are lying to it.
He advocates just saying "Wealth" over and over because it is not a statement, but an idea.
I wonder if Murphy and Neville ever had any discussions on this topic?
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall there.

Murphy also seems to advocate looking at various manifesting techniques to see which one works best for you.
And as with Neville, there are a lot of Bible quotes through out the book.

And I found something very important to me on page 107, "The Law of Reverse Effort".
It's how when we put too much effort into manifesting, we begin to try to use willpower instead of imagining.
" Use no willpower. Instead, visualize the end and the state of freedom it produces."

Of course this goes back to thinking from the end.
See the result, not how you got there.

Despite the differences, if you have read a lot of Neville and a lot of Murphy, you will begin to see the similarities between the two more than the differences.
I think the two compliment each other.
And with over a million copies in print, someone must agree with me.

I have read that some think Murphy was ripping off the Master Key System with his work.
But I still think there is nothing new under the sun, and everyone's techniques will have similarites with another.

Believe in Yourself, Joseph Murphy

Believe in Yourself, Joseph Murphy

From Believe in Yourself by Dr. Joseph Murphy

"A great industrialist told me one time how he started in a small store. He said that I used to dream (Joseph was a dreamer) of a large corporation with branches all over the country. He added that regularly and systematically he pictured in his mind the giant building, offices, factories, and stores, knowing that through the alchemy of the mind, he could weave the fabric out of which his dreams would be clothed. He prospered, and began to attract to himself by a universal law of attraction the ideas, personnel, friends, money, and everything needed for the unfoldment of his ideal. He truly exercised and cultivated his imagination, and lived with these mental patterns in his mind until imagination clothed them in form.

I liked particularly one comment which he made as follows, "It is just as easy to imagine yourself successful, as it is to imagine failure, and far more interesting."

"We have said previously that all our mental attitudes are conditioned by imagination. If you imagine: It is going to be a black day today; business is going to be very poor; that it is raining; no customers will come into your store; they have no money, etc., you will experience the result of your negative imagery.

One time Troward (Thomas Troward*) was walking the streets of London, and he imagined he saw a snake on the street. Fear caused him to become semi-paralyzed. What he saw looked like a snake, but Troward had the same mental and emotional reaction as if it were a snake.

Imagine whatsoever things are lovely, noble, and of good report, and your entire emotional attitude toward life will change. What do you imagine about life? Is it going to be a happy life for you? Or is it one long series of frustrations? "Choose ye whom ye will serve."*

You mold, fashion, and shape your outer world of experience according to the mental images you habitually dwell on. Imagine conditions and circumstances in life which dignify, elevate, please, and satisfy. If you imagine life is cold, cruel, hard, bitter, and that struggle and pain are inevitable, you are making life miserable for yourself."

* Thomas Troward is one of the authors credited with inspiring "The Secret" film.
* Joshua 24:15

The Magic of Faith, Joseph Murphy

The Magic of Faith, Joseph Murphy

From The Magic of Faith, by Joseph Murphy.....

When you go to sleep tonight, forgive everyone. And imagine and feel your desire is fulfilled. Become absolutely and completely indifferent to all thought of failure, because you now know the law. As you accept the end, you have, as Troward so beautifully stated, willed the means to the realization of the end. As you are about to enter sleep, galvanize yourself into the feeling of being or having your desire. Your mental acceptance or your feeling as you go to sleep is the request you make of your Beloved; then She looks at your request (conviction in the subconscious mind), and being the Absolute Lover, she must give you what you asked.

"You feed among the lilies until the day breaks and the shadows flee away." The shadows are fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, and all the reasons why you cannot do something. The shadows of our five senses and race belief hover over the minds of all as we pray.

When you pray, accept as true what your reason and five senses deny and reject. Remain faithful to your idea by being full of faith every step of the way. When your consciousness is fully qualified with the acceptance of your desire, all the fear will go away. Trust in the reality of your ideal or desire until you are filled full of the feeling of being it; then the day will break and all shadows will flee away. Yes, the answer to your prayer will come, and light up the heavens of your mind bringing you peace.

No matter what the problem is, how acute, dark, or hopeless things seem to be, turn now to God, and say, "How is it in God and Heaven?" The answer will softly steal over your mind like the dew from heaven: "All is peace, joy, bliss, perfection, wholeness, harmony, and beauty"; then reject the evidence of your senses, and feed among the lilies of God and Heaven, such as peace, harmony, joy, and perfection. Realize what is true of God must be true of you and your surroundings. Continue in this abiding trust and faith in God "until the day breaks and the shadows flee away."

Supreme Mastery of Fear by Joseph Murphy

Supreme Mastery of Fear by Joseph Murphy

From: Supreme Mastery of Fear by Joseph Murphy....

Who is your Lord and master this very moment?

Your Lord is your predominant, mental attitude; it is your conviction or belief about yourself, people, and things; this Lord can be a tyrant. For example, if your mood is now one of resentment, that is your Lord or tyrant that governs all of your actions and all phases of your life. If you want to invest some money, buy a new home, or some property, while in this attitude, you will do the wrong thing and say the wrong thing, because your predominant mood is negative. The law is: "As within, so without." You are fearing your good, and you would react negatively. Fear is a lack of faith or trust in God, which is a denial of His Omnipotence.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation." The Lord" referred to is the Lord God, or the law of God or good. To put the law of good into operation, -thereby banishing fear once and for all, -enthrone in your mind the thoughts of power, courage, and confidence. These thoughts will generate a corresponding mood or feeling, which will banish the arch enemy of your success and health.
